When the day cools down in Cayman the night heats up with the beat of live music from local bands.

Kickstart the weekend at Camana Bay where a band plays on Friday evenings on The Paseo. Different groups perform each week and the free show is held outside in the pedestrian area between the shops and restaurants. Another venue where the beat rarely stops in Grand Cayman is the Havana Club. Audiences are treated to live music every weekend, as well as on various nights throughout the week.

On Friday nights, the Brickhouse comes alive with sound and a different band takes the stage every week.Among the bands that can be seen at the Brickhouse on any given Friday night count Bona Fide, Gone Country, Red White and Blues, Gary Ebanks and Intransit and the Easy Street Band.

Macabuca is one more venue that offers visitors the option of variety, with different bands passing through weekly, playing between 10pm and 1am. The line up can range from bands like Clever Knotts with their fusion of all genres to bands like Bona Fide and Gone Country.

When it comes to music in the Cayman Islands, no list would be complete without a mention of the Barefoot Man. He can be found playing a weekly show at the Reef Resort in East End on Thursday from 7pm till 10pm. This show goes down a treat for tourists in particular, who love his witty delivery of original tunes about living in the tropics. Great Stuff!

Folks can check out Hi Tide at Deckers Grille and Lounge on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and the band can also be seen at the Reef Resort in East End on Tuesday nights. The award-winning duo plays an acoustic style featuring original tunes that have garnered acclaim, and favourites from all categories.

If you miss them at Deckers, you can catch them at the Roof Top in George Town, above Le Classique.

Also, look out for Suite Elite playing the lobby of the Treasure Island on West Bay Road once every month. Check the local press for details on this high energy band, featuring one of the premier singers on the island, Pam Burgess. Cayman Cabana, formerly known as Hammerheads, has a weekly jam night and once a month holds a concert featuring a local band. The venue also promotes local artists in their One 345 Swanky Shack and posts their profiles on the Cayman Cabana website.
