What do you love about Cayman?
What I love most about Cayman is the diversity of people living and working here. It is amazing to see so many cultures represented in many different ways and it really opens your eyes to new ways of thinking and new friendships. It almost reminds me of when I backpacked around Europe.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is most certainly how involved I am with the kitchen staff and Chef Brad, and the amazing ingredients we have at the restaurant. With our organic garden and our own fishing boat, the products are incredible, and I get involved as much as I can. I also use our garden produce and local farmers for our “Bar Chef” cocktail program.
What is your favourite thing to do on the island?
At The Brasserie, we are fortunate to have most weekends off, and it is much needed, so I enjoy relaxing at one of the many beach bars with my great group of friends. We exchange stories and just take it easy. It’s the best.
What is one piece of advice you would share with visitors?
I would recommend immersing oneself as much as possible in the local culture and experiencing Cayman as the locals and the people that live here love to. There is so much amazing Caymanian and Caribbean cuisine to be enjoyed as well as, of course, some of the best beaches and most beautiful reefs in the world.
