Cayman Cookout

Lion Fish Hunt, Preparation demo by Chef Dora and Tasting by Chef Ajay

Divetech at Cobalt Coast Dive Resort, West Bay, Grand Cayman
By combing the # 1 sport in Cayman of scuba diving, environmental awareness for divers, removing an invasive species from the ocean and turning the lionfish into tasty tidbits complimented by white wine, diving guests will be a part of a solution in an educational and fun filled afternoon. An educational briefing on lion fish will be followed by a 1-tank dive to catch lion fish, a demonstration on how to handle and prepare the species and appetizer tidbits in Caribbean style paired with cold white wine.

Latin Night Under the Stars of Cayman

Dine by Design Beach BBQ

Seven Mile Public Beach, Al La Kebab
A multi-cultural BBQ, showcasing Caribbean, Asian, Latin and North American methods and flavours. Wine and beer pairing with meat and seafood dishes, bringing out the best of the seasoning and the vintages alike. Ticket price includes 2 drink tickets and full access to our smorgasboard of flavours: passed appetisers, seven grilling stations, salads and sides as well as dessert.

Rum Tour and Pirate Sail

The Cayman Islands Distillery / The Jolly Roger
Take a tour of Cayman's first and only distillery and see how rum is made. After sampling various special rums on site, step down stairs from the distillery to board the a real Pirate Ship. On board a 2 hour sunset cruise you will enjoy a selection of delicious rum themed appetizers and a signature Seven Fathoms Rum cocktail.

Fish Tea Cook Off
January 23 - National Heroes Day

Time: Gates open at 10 am
The great Fish Tea Cook Off will be featuring cooks from the various districts of Grand Cayman preparing their mouth-watering brews that, according to local lore, can add years to your life. Think of fish tea as a potpourri of all things fishy with a bright-red kick. However, an even better bit of advice will be to sample it, and then let the results speak for themselves.

This 24th annual event is a cornucopia of sights, sounds, smells and tastes! With over 30 restaurants from the Cayman Islands participating, there is food and drink for everyone. Brewery Tour & Taste Pairing Dinner
February 3

Cayman Islands Brewery
This brewery tour will lead participants on a discovery of the local brews--from the way they are made and bottled to how they can be used in a dining experience. The evening begins with arrivals and appetizers, moves to the Brew Hall and the main course and finishes in the Bottling Hall for dessert. Three restaurants will provide food that uses beer for the complete beer-soaked evening!

Reds, Whites & Brews (and local food)
February 4

Our Houses at Grand Harbour
The day will consist of local wine and beer purveyors showcasing their products (Caybrew, Jacques Scott, Premier, Tortuga). The local restaurants on island will be invited to partake in an authentic local cook off, where the visitors can vote for best oxtail, conch stew etc. To vote and receive tasters a donation of CI$15 has to be made to a local charity. All wine and food will be available for sale as well. Entertainment will be live music by local bands. A bus shuttle service will be available from all major Hotels.

Slow Food Day
February 4

Market at the Grounds at Michael's Genuine Food & Drink (Camana Bay)
Join Slow Food Grand Cayman and Michael's Genuine Food & Drink for the First Annual Slow Food Day Grand Cayman, an event celebrating the linkage of the pleasure of good food made from local ingredients with a commitment to community and the environment. When James Beard award-winning chef Michael Schwartz opened Michael's Genuine Food & Drink in Grand Cayman in June 2010, his mission was to provide Caymanians as well as visitors to Camana Bay with a taste of the fresh, simple, pure and sustainable cuisine that has made his Miami Design District restaurant one of the hottest dining destinations in the United States. Schwartz and Slow Food Grand Cayman soon launched a monthly Farm to Table Dinner series to further support and grow the local economy by prominently featuring ingredients from local producers. Meet Slow Food Day, the natural next step to bring the whole island together in a celebration of eating locally and sourcing sustainably. A full roster of events pairing local chefs with local farmers, fisherman, and ranchers will be available for locals and tourists to enjoy.
