Seven Mile Beach
voted tops
The very influential TripAdvisor voted Seven Mile Beach one
of the top 10 worldwide. These awards are unique in that they are based on
millions of reviews by ordinary people, lending them great weight. To be
specific, Seven Mile Beach was seventh best worldwide and it was praised for ‘gorgeous
clear waters and coral sands.’ The Cayman Islands’ clear waters and beautiful
marine life also wowed American Express, which, in its February 2011 travel
survey, placed Grand Cayman among the Top 10 Caribbean Destinations for Spring
2011.
Travel Agents vote
Cayman Best Honeymoon destination
Brides Magazine
chose Cayman as 15th best worldwide honeymoon destination. The
accolade was presented during Caribbean Week in New York. The top 20 worldwide
honeymoon destinations were voted for in conjunction with Signature Travel
Network which has more than 6,000 travel agents on its books. Seven Mile Beach
was also voted one of the world’s top 25 beaches.
“Justly considered one of the
Caribbean’s most beautiful beaches, it is truly relaxed: no pesky vendors or
blasting music. More important, the water is transparent and irresistible,”
they said.
Divers love Cayman
Readers of Scuba
Diving Magazine loved Cayman too. Following hot on the heels of the sinking
of ex-USS Kittiwake, the Cayman Islands was voted top in Overall Destination
and Wall Diving for the Readers’ Choice Awards, 2011. The islands also rated
second in Overall
Rating of the Diving and Shore Diving and were awarded third spot in the
categories of Health
of Marine Environment, Visibility, Underwater Photography, Diving for Advanced andMacro
Life. Aquaviews,
meanwhile, noted that Cayman was third on PADI’s list of favourite scuba
destinations, praising dive conditions and superb underwater visibility. The
popular website also praised the accessibility of Stingray City, with the
shallow water enabling snorkeling, or simply standing in the water, whilst interacting
with the gorgeous creatures.
